What Are Author Copies?

Author copies are copies of your published book that you can order at printing cost only.
You are not charged retail markup or distribution fees. This allows you to:
  • Sell books at events
  • Supply bookstores directly
  • Use copies for marketing or giveaways
  • Keep personal inventory

How Author Copy Cost is Calculated

Author copy pricing is based on the Print Charge used in royalty calculations.

Print Charge Formula

Print Charge = (Page Count × Print Cost Per Page) + Unit Cost

Example (Black & White Paperback):

  • Unit Cost per Book = $0.95

  • Print Cost per Page = $0.019

  • Example Book Length = 108 pages

Print Charge = 108 × $0.019 + $0.95 ≈ $3.00 per copy

Shipping and applicable taxes are calculated at the time of order.
