Professional Text Layout Service
This is formatting or typesetting of your work. This formatting service will give your book a finished professional look inside. Please note that formatting is laying out your text content and/or images out in an attractive way - it does not involve looking for typos within that content, creating paragraph or section breaks where there are none, changing the sequence or order of appearance of the content, renumbering chapters or sub-sections, or editing or proof-reading your work - these services are considered by us as 'editing', not 'formatting', and are available at an additional price. Therefore, for our Professional Text Layout Service, we will:
Ø Resize your manuscript to the correct page size.
Ø Choose a font style and size to match your book.
Ø Resize side margins and top and bottom margins.
Ø Adjust paragraph indents.
Ø Adjust line spacing (if necessary).
Ø Insert chapter headers.
Ø Insert or correct page numbers.
Ø Justify text left to right and top to bottom, getting rid of 'widows and orphans' etc.
Our price is just $60 for a full text formatting of an average sized book from a Microsoft word document or rtf manuscript. However, we can do a very basic format for getting rid of just the major blips from $20 upwards.
Please note:
Ø Lengthy or more complex books with footnotes or with many sub points/bullet points/numbering will cost more, as will books with graphics.
Ø You must tell us at the time of order if you want a specific styling/font/layout, otherwise we will go ahead and choose a style that in our professional opinion works best for your book. It is not reasonable of you to tell us AFTER we have done the formatting work that you actually wanted a different stylisation to the text.
Ø The cost of all our formatting or design work is based on producing print-ready files to be routed through our printing service ONLY.
Ø If you want formatting or design work to be done by us for a book that is to be printed independently of us, then there will be additional charges for us to create or design the final print-files for you, and/or to release our final print-ready files to you at any time in the future.
Ø While you maintain complete copyright over your written content, you do not own, or have any claim to the final print-ready files as created by us, just as you would never own the printing plates for your book at an offset printer.
